When I had a baby with me, and other babies in the cradle, I was working 12 hour shifts sanding flooring and tearing off wallpaper. Ha! The home was starting to appear nice, however there were still many things to be done. In this undertaking I was ready to spend a considerable amount of money and time looking for my dream house. To keep the cost within my means I took my kids along to search for hidden treasures at estate sales. We used to go on a weekly basis of walking around auctions and garage sales on Saturday and Sunday, and buy a variety of furniture, both new and old created. My work days were spent at the end of the driveway, either painting or sanding. Furniture looked this way... and that's where I got my passion for restoring. Although our house was fully decorated, I was unable to put down. There was a place at the local markets in which I sold my items. Then I bought more that I knew about and outgrew the space. Then I began hosting open houses in my home that saw more than 1 000 visitors came through on a single weekend and could purchase anything they wanted on the ground floor. Growing Days was founded in my home. Not only was my business flourishing, but I was also growing our family of four. I was balancing the demands of what it was like starting a business and be a mommy too. Growing Days seemed like the ideal match. Nora my fourth child was born in 2013. This was an excellent direction for my business however, I needed a vacation. I made the decision to take a break to spend time at home, with my kids. The time was right. After a few months when the phones began to call. They were asking for my help in interior decoration and home renovations. It was mostly those that came to my house for furniture. After a while I started taking on clients at my pace. In no time, I was managing several accounts and a home renovations company. When you first spoke to me about your home remodeling business I was astonished. It's funny to think back to it.
